Small but skilled: precision mechanics, electronics and a strong engineering tradition.
Armenia has a strikingly well educated technical workforce, with a tradition in precision mechanics, instrumentation and electronics. Alongside that there is a mature IT and engineering sector, which helps when development work and production have to sit close together.
The size of the country carries through into the assignments: runs are limited, but the attention per piece is high. For precision work, prototypes and small series that is an advantage rather than a limitation.
What to watch: Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. That calls for extra attention to origin, transit and payment routes, certainly when parts or materials come from the region. We record that chain before any money moves.
